Happy New Year!

As of today, we are one week into 2019, so in the spirit of celebration, Happy New Year!  I do hope that your year is full of  newness (new things, places, people, experiences),  and that the newness brings you much happy.

I encourage you to choose what makes you happy, and choose to engage in something new! Trying something new provides exposure and keeps things fresh so go for it! Be intentional and take a chance on yourself by going after what you want.  It is to be it is up to me!!!!

There's no time like the present.  Whether or not you make New Year's resolutions, now is a great time to evaluate where you are in life and where you want to be.  Whether those two places are in the same neighborhood or worlds apart, you have what you need to get from one to the other.   It just takes some confidence and consistency.

Confidence is a valuable tool that comes from knowing who you are  and what you bring to the table.  Confidence is like a magnet that attracts the great opportunities you desire because it causes you to see yourself in a certain way which positions you to see and seize what is before you.

Here are a few simple things to do to boost your confidence:

  1. Know who you are.  It's difficult to be completely comfortable with yourself if you don't know who you are. Take time to observe you. Get to know your likes, talents, skills and abilities.  Most people can compile a list of their dislikes and weaknesses without a second thought, yet they struggle when you ask them to share their strengths. Knowing your value in terms of what you bring to the table is a part of knowing who you are. Be aware of what and how you contribute to the things you are a part of.   Knowing your value keeps you from being devalued by others because when you know your worth, mistreatment  is neither committed nor tolerated by you.

  2. Know what you want. We live in a world of endless possibility.  In order to seize the opportunities that are for you, you must know what you want. Knowing what you want is focus, and focus makes our sight like a giraffe. There's an entire world going on beneath a giraffe's line of sight.  In order to engage in that world the giraffe has to adjust his focus, and lower himself down to the world below.  Knowing what you want will elevate your mind and help you see beyond all that does not matter, so that you can identify what is for you when it comes across your path.

2019 is going to be a great year! You can do with it whatever you choose.
