We Become What We Believe

Podcast Epside 001

The start of the new year is in some ways a polarizing topic. There are many that make resolutions, construct goals, vision boards and the like; and then there are those who believe it's pointless.  Personally, I believe they’re both correct - meaning, what you believe, you will achieve. No one has more power and influence over your future than you.

Our lives are the sum total of our choices. So if you decide to remain as is; so be it; and if you decide to make a change, so be it.  If you don't like some things in your life as they stand, you can bring about change.  It just takes focus, determination, and consistency.

For those thinking "easier said than done", please know that I've been there where I wanted "out" but didn't know where to begin.  Bible says "in all your ways acknowledge the Lord, and He will direct your path…now, whether or not you start with prayer, please understand that you cannot end there.   Prayer is a good start but that's only one part of it… prayers don't work unless we do.

Sometimes a goal or dream can be so far off from our current circumstances, it can seem out of reach because we don't know how we will get there.  To that, I say,  "You eat an elephant one bite at a time". Dream big…and then break the goal down into small manageable steps…

Sometimes our dream is so big it can scare us….Fear is a natural human response to navigating in the unfamiliar.  The key is to combat the fear… Talk back to it.  Declare what it is you want to be, see, do and have. When situations and circumstances are in your face and speaking to you, talk back to them.  This will create within you the mindset and capacity to attract what it is you desire.

Try it….Whether or not you believe in the "new year, new you" mantra,  time is of the essence.  In my humble opinion, it's the most valuable commodity that we have because we can never get it back.  Whether you use January 1, or some other date (I use my birthday), the clock of life is ticking, and it can't be turned back; so how are you using your most valuable asset.  Are you making it work for you?  Are you investing it into activities and actions that will get you further down the path you want to take and closer to your desired destination?

If you always do what you've always done, you will always get what you have already got…if you want something different, do differently.
